ACCRA, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- Ghana's national U-20 team has been drawn in Group B of the Africa Youth Championship to be held in Niger next year.
The Black Satellites were handed an all-West Africa group comprising Mali, Senegal and Burkina Faso at the draw ceremony held at the Technical Center of the Niger Football Federation in the capital, Niamey, Thursday night.
Ghana will face neighbors Burkina Faso in the group opener before playing Mali and Senegal in that order.
The three-time African U-20 champions will be making a comeback to the Africa Youth Cup of Nations after missing out on the 2017 edition in Zambia.
Seven-time winners Nigeria were drawn in Group A together with South Africa, Burundi and host Niger.
The final tournament will be held from Feb. 2 to 17, 2019 in the Nigerien cities of Niamey and Maradi.
The semi-finalists will qualify to represent Africa at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland later next year. Enditem
