TRIPOLI, Dec. 16 (Xinhua) -- UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) on Saturday condemned the attack on the home of Salah Marghani, a senior security official here in the Libyan capital.

In a statement, the mission also condemned the attack which killed the official's wife and wounded him in the presence of their children.

"Gang-style targeted killings and enforced disappearances in Greater Tripoli must end. These crimes are in violation of IHL (international humanitarian law); perpetrators must be brought to justice," the Mission said.

Marghani is a senior security official in the Libyan Interior Ministry. His house in Tripoli was attacked by unknown gunmen earlier Saturday.

No group has claimed responsibility so far.

Libya has been suffering insecurity and incessant violence since the fall of former leader Muammar Gaddafi in 2011. Enditem
