HARARE -- Eleven people died on the spot late Sunday afternoon after two minibuses collided head-on 49 km from Harare along the highway to Nyampanda, the border of Zimbabwe and Mozambique, police have confirmed.

Spokesperson Paul Nyathi told Xinhua that 10 adults and a child died after one of the buses' tyre burst, resulting in the bus encroaching into the way of another on-coming bus. (Zimbabwe-Accident)

BRUSSELS -- Thousands of protestors clashed with police during march against a UN migration pact here on Sunday, while a peaceful counter-protest in favour of the pact drew over 1,000 people on the same day.

The march against the Untied Nations Global Compact for Migration, signed in Marrakech last week, was triggered by Flemish right-wing parties amid fears the pact could lead to an increase in immigration. (Belgium-March-Migration)

DAMASCUS -- Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Sunday met with a visiting Iranian official over the formation of the Syrian constitutional committee, said the presidential media office.

During the meeting, Hossein Jaberi Ansari, Iranian Foreign Minister's special assistant for political affairs, informed Assad of the preparations for a meeting by Russia, Iran and Turkey in Geneva in the next few days, following the agreement on the final structure of the constitutional committee. DUBAI -- President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Sunday ordered a reshuffle of the central bank's board of directors, state-run WAM news agency reported.

According to the presidential decree, Hareb Masoud Hamad Al Darmaki was appointed as new chairman of the board of directors and Abdulrahman Saleh Al Saleh as new vice chairman. (UAE-Central Bank-Reshuffle)

PARIS -- A fifth person wounded in the attack that targeted a Christmas market in Strasbourg, east France on Tuesday, succumbed to his injuries, the Paris prosecutor's office confirmed on Sunday evening.
