2 killed in hospital fire in India

NEW DELHI, Dec. 17 (Xinhua) -- At least two persons died and many injured when a fire broke out inside a hospital in southwestern Indian city of Mumbai on Monday, said media reports.

Several persons, including patients, are said to be trapped inside the five-storey government-run ESIC Kamgar Hospital located in Mumbai's Andheri East area.

There were around 160 patients undergoing treatment at the hospital when the fire suddenly broke out.

Fire-tenders rushed to the hospital and rescue work is reportedly going on. Around 50 persons have been rescued so far. Further details are awaited. Enditem
