PARIS, Dec. 17 (Xinhua) -- French shares fell on Monday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 down 1.11 percent, or 53.83 points, to close at 4,799.87 points.

Of the 40 selected large companies, 35 lost in the day.

TechnipFMC, international provider of complete project life cycle services for the energy industry, was down 4.43 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French financial giant Societe Generale lost 2.76 percent. Another French financial giant BNP Parisbas lost 2.44 percent.

French hotel group Accor advanced 0.40 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. French international energy management group Veolia and global communication giant Publicis gained 0.24 percent. Enditem
