LONDON, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Tuesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 1.06 percent, or 71.65 points, to close at 6,701.59 points.
Randgold Resources, an international gold mining and exploration business, soared 3.18 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Standard Life Aberdeen and Easyjet increased by 2.55 percent and 2.52 percent, respectively.
National Grid, a British multinational electricity and gas utility company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 9.17 percent.
