ISTANBUL -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Sunday slammed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over his aggressive tweet, saying the Israeli leader is heading a "state terrorism."

"You are the voice of oppressors. You are conducting state terrorism," Erdogan said of Netanyahu at an event in Istanbul.

A day earlier, Netanyahu said on his Twitter account that "Erdogan, the occupier of northern Cyprus, whose army massacres women and children in Kurdish villages, inside and outside Turkey, should not preach to Israel."(Turkey-Israel-Ties)

PANDEGLANG, Indonesia -- The death toll from a volcano-triggered tsunami in Indonesia rose to 222 with at least 843 others injured, the disaster management agency said on Sunday.

The tsunami hit at 9:27 p.m. Jakarta time (1427 GMT) on Saturday, after the eruption of the Anak Krakatau volcano, or Child of Krakatoa volcano in English, sparked underwater landslides, leading to the rise of the sea level, according to the agency.

The tsunami destroyed 556 houses, nine hotels and 360 ships in the district of Pandeglang, the hardest hit area, as well as Serang of Banten province and Lampung Selatan district of Lampung province, spokesman of national disaster management agency Sutopo Purwo Nugroho said.(Indonesia-Tsunami-Death toll)

JERUSALEM -- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will attend the inauguration of Brazilian President-elect Jair Bolsonaro in January, the prime minister's office said Sunday.

Speaking at the weekly cabinet meeting, Netanyahu said a personal meeting will also be held with Bolsonaro, who had expressed strong support for Israel during his election campaign.

"This weekend I will leave on a historic visit to Brazil," Netanyahu said. "Upon my arrival, I will meet with President-elect Jair Bolsonaro and later with other leaders as well." Strengthening ties with Brazil has important implications for Israel's economy, he noted. (Israel-Brazil-Ties) Enditem
