PHNOM PENH, Dec. 24 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia exported products worth 11.2 billion U.S. dollars in 2018, up 4 percent over 2017, according to a Commerce Ministry's annual report released on Monday.

Speaking during the ministry's annual conference, Commerce Minister Pan Sorasak said Cambodian products had been shipped to 147 countries and regions around the world.

"The growth is driven by the increases in the exports of apparel as well as agricultural and industrial products," he said. "The export volume accounts for about 60 percent of Cambodia's GDP (gross domestic product)."

Ouk Ty, director-general of the Commerce Ministry's General Department of Administration and Finance, said main items exported from Cambodia are garment and footwear, bicycles, rubber, rice, cassava, pepper, palm oil and cashew nut.

On the import side, the Southeast Asian nation shipped in goods worth 13.7 billion U.S. dollars in 2018, up 5.7 percent over 2017, the report said.

Cambodian's major trading partners include European countries, the United States, China, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore and Malaysia. Enditem
