ADDIS ABABA, Dec. 25 (Xinhua) -- The following are news highlights in Ethiopia's major media outlets on Tuesday.
-- The House of People's Representatives (HPR) on Tuesday approved the dart bill to establish a Reconciliation Commission.
The House approved the draft bill with majority vote, one against and one abstention. The objective of the Commission is to maintain peace, justice, national unity and consensus and also reconciliation among Ethiopian peoples. (FBC)
-- Ethiopia's President Sahle-Work Zewde on Monday appointed the 20 ambassador plenipotentiaries who will represent Ethiopia overseas. (Fana Broadcasting Corporate/FBC)
-- The Oriomia Regional State has vowed to put on "zero tolerance" for any destabilizing forces, who have been committing mass killings and armed robbery in the region.
In a press briefing to journalists on Monday, Oromia Police Commissioner, Alemayehu Ejigu said in the past four months the region has seen bloody and deadly attacks perpetrated by lawless groups in Western Oromia. (Ethiopian News Agency/ENA)
