TUNIS, Dec. 25 (Xinhua) -- Tunisia on Tuesday strongly condemned the attack on the headquarters of Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tripoli earlier Tuesday.

Tunisian authorities denounced the Tuesday attack as "a cowardly terrorist attack," the communication office of Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement sent to Xinhua.

"Tunisia offers all its support for Libya and the Libyan people," it said.

Tunisia hopes to see the efforts of the United Nations "leading to a consensual and peaceful global political resolution in this brother country to restore security and stability," it added.

Tunisian Foreign Minister Khemaies Jhinaoui on Tuesday called on all parties on the Libyan issue and the international community to redouble the efforts to face the terrorist scourge, and fight against its impact on the nations.

The attack in Tripoli was carried out by a group of armed assailants described as "terrorists" by the Libyan authorities. At least three people were killed and 10 others were wounded. Enditem
