LUSAKA, Dec. 26 (Xinhua) -- The following are news highlights in Zambia's major media outlets on Wednesday.
-- Zambian President Edgar Lungu has directed three ministers to ensure that not a single miner loses their jobs unjustifiably following threats by mining firms to have job cuts in view of the impending implementation of a new mining tax regime.
Lungu said he saw no reason for such drastic measures by any mining company. (Times of Zambia)
-- Zambian President Edgar Lungu is expected to travel to Congo-Brazzaville to attend an emergency summit on the security situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) ahead of general elections.
