ANTANANARIVO, Dec. 26 (Xinhua) -- Madagascar will announce the complete results of the recent presidential run-off election on Thursday, instead of Dec. 31 as previously planned, the Independent National Election Commission (INEC) said Wednesday.

According to provisional results published Wednesday morning by the INEC, results from 99.32 percent of polling stations show that Andry Rajoelina won 2,567,142 votes, or 55.57 percent, while Marc Ravalomanana had 2,052,823 votes, or 44.43 percent.

After Thursday's announcement, the country's High Constitutional Court (HCC) will have another eight days to determine whether they agree with the provisional results and their final decision will be made before Jan. 4, 2019.

Local TV station VIVA reported Wednesday that Rajoelina planned to hold his swearing-in ceremony on January 7, 2019.

Ravalomanana, however, declared last Sunday on I-BC TV his rejection to the results of INEC on allegations of "massive fraud" during the election, urging the INEC and the HCC to recount the ballots. Enditem
