SINGAPORE, Dec. 28 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 0.29 percent, or 8.69 points, to close at 3,053.43.
A total of 942.5 million shares changed hands with a turnover of 539.9 million Singapore dollars (about 394.78 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 222 to 158.
The STI index went up 1.12 percent, or 33.59 points, to close at 3,044.74 on Thursday. Enditem
