LONDON, Dec. 31 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Monday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.09 percent, or 5.84 points, to close at 6,728.13 points.

Rentokil Initial, a business service company, soared 3.12 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Ocado and InterContinental Hotels Group increased by 2.86 percent and 2.24 percent, respectively.

3i Group, a multinational private equity and venture capital company, with its shares losing 2.77 percent. British American Tobacco, a tobacco group, dropped 2.69 percent. Next, a British multinational clothing, footwear and home products retailer, fell 1.41 percent. Enditem
