Ajax sign defender Magallan from Boca Juniors

THE HAGUE, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) -- Ajax acquired defender Lisandro Magallan from Boca Juniors, the Dutch club announced on Wednesday.
The 25-year-old Argentine signed a four-and-a-half-year deal starting on January 1, 2019 and running until June 30, 2023. The clubs agreed a transfer fee of around 8 million euros (9.1 million U.S. dollars).
Magallan lost the final of the Copa Libertadores with Boca to River Plate in December. He will join the Ajax squad during their winter training camp in Florida, United States in January.
The interest from Ajax in Magallan dates back to last summer, when the right-footed defender already underwent a medical examination in Amsterdam. Last summer however Ajax and Boca couldn't reach an agreement on a transfer. Enditem
