KAMPALA, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) -- An Ethiopian Airlines plane overshot the runway as it landed at Uganda's Entebbe International Airport on Thursday, causing delay of other flights, a spokesperson said.

Vianney Luggya, spokesperson of Civil Aviation Authority, said that the incident happened at 00:41 a.m. local time (2141 GMT) as the plane landed en route from Ethiopia.

"It was not a crash-landing as some media have reported. The plane just overshot the runway," Luggya said, adding that there were no casualties.

The flights to Entebbe were rerouted to Nairobi, Kenya, and a statement would be released to give details about the incident, said Luggya. Enditem
