LONDON, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Thursday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.62 percent, or 41.57 points, to close at 6,692.66 points.
Next, a British multinational clothing, footwear and home products retailer, soared 4.14 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Tesco and WM Morrison Supermarkets increased by 4.07 percent and 2.24 percent, respectively.
Evraz, a multinational vertically integrated steel making and mining company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 7.74 percent.
