Airline companies operating in Albania compensate 700 passengers

TIRANA, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) -- A total of 700 passengers were compensated by airline companies operating in Albania due to delays or cancellations in 2018 and 1,200 are underway, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) published on Saturday.

According to the published figures, there has been an increase in the number of compensation with 250 euros (around 285 U.S. dollars) to passengers who have completed the complaint forms.

The Civil Aviation Authority said that Blue Panorama Airlines is the first company in terms of passenger compensations with a figure that goes up to 500 compensations.

Ernest Airlines, also known as Fly Ernest, has performed 96 compensations.

In 2018, the total number of compensations is 700, out of about 2,000 completed forms for complaints.

Meanwhile, airline companies have agreed to compensate for 1,200 other passengers and have started compensation procedures, CAA said. Enditem
