VIENTIANE, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- Teachers and students of Huaxieng village primary school in Lao capital Vientiane have been delighted with the new school building constructed with the funding from the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC).

The Vientiane branch of ICBC handed over the school building to Lao teachers and students on Saturday.

Principle of Huaxieng village primary school Keota Khamchanla said at the handover ceremony that students and teachers were confident that the new building would provide a better learning environment.

The ICBC Vientiane branch told Xinhua on Monday that its staff also donated around 24,000 U.S. dollars to purchase school facilities including tables, desks and blackboards.

Huaxieng village primary school, established in 1930, now has 150 students enrolled in the first to fifth grades.

The ICBC has supported various development projects in Laos in recent years. Enditem
