MEXICO CITY -- Two gunmen killed seven people at a restaurant-bar in the Mexican Caribbean resort of Playa del Carmen, local officials said Monday.

The attack around 8 p.m. Sunday saw two assailants open fire in the Las Virginias restaurant-bar, then flee aboard a vehicle that was waiting outside. (Mexico-Crime-Tourism)

PARIS -- The French government was considering a law to toughen sanctions against undeclared protests in order to stop a repeat of violence that marred "yellow vest" demonstrations in recent weeks, Prime Minister Edouard Philippe said on Monday.

WASHINGTON -- The White House said Monday that U.S. President Donald Trump plans to visit the U.S.-Mexico border on Thursday, as the partisan fight over his demand for funding a border wall has left the federal government partially shut down for more than two weeks.

"President @realDonaldTrump will travel to the Southern border on Thursday to meet with those on the frontlines of the national security and humanitarian crisis.
