FRANKFURT, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- German stocks rose on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 56.17 points, or 0.52 percent, to close at 10,803.98 points.
Multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 2.58 percent. Sportswear and equipment maker Adidas and industrial giant Thyssenkrupp rose by 2.42 percent and 1.83 percent respectively.
European health care company Fresenius SE lost the most among the blue chips, falling 2.44 percent. German telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom went down by 1.33 percent. Renal dialysis equipment supplier Fresenius Medical shed 1.22 percent.
Bayer was the most-traded share with a turnover of 266.2 million euros (304.53 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
