FRANKFURT, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- German stocks rose on Wednesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 89.34 points, or 0.83 percent, to close at 10,893.32 points.
Renal dialysis equipment supplier Fresenius Medical gained the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 3.86 percent. Global internet technology and financial services provider Wirecard and tire specialist Continental rose by 3.81 percent and 3.08 percent respectively.
Deutsche Bank lost the most among the blue chips, falling 2.77 percent. Energy group E.ON went down by 1.26 percent. German telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom shed 0.64 percent.
Automotive manufacturer Daimler was the most-traded share with a turnover of 293.6 million euros (336.3 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
