RAMALLAH, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- Head of Palestinian Authority (PA) Colonization and Settlement Resistance Commission Walid Assaf Thursday slammed Israeli new roads with a dividing wall as "racist."

"Two roads were newly opened with a dividing eight-meter-high wall, where the right side of it is specialized for Palestinians and the left side is for settlers," Assaf said.

He warned that this road plan could lead to the expulsion of Khan Al-Ahmar village and more than 21 other Palestinian communities.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry said in a press statement that the new Israeli plan "undermines the credibility of the international community and the possibility to reach a political solution to the conflict."

The ministry described the move as "apartheid" and slammed the "deadly silence of the international community towards the manifestations of apartheid in occupied Palestine."

Israeli settlement activity, deemed illegal by most world powers and under the international law, is considered one of the thorniest issues that hindered the peace talks between Palestinians and Israelis. It continues to be one of the main issues of disagreement since the stop of the peace talks in 2014. Enditem
