RABAT, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- Moroccan King Mohammed VI on Thursday was officially invited to attend the Arab League Summit scheduled in late March in Tunisia's capital Tunis.

The invitation message was conveyed by Sabri Bachtobji, visiting Tunisian secretary of state for foreign affairs, on behalf of Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi, to Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita.

At the press conference after his meeting with Bourita, Bachtobji said the upcoming Arab Summit will be held against the backdrop of a number of issues and challenges facing Arab countries and peoples.

Meanwhile, the meeting with Bourita was an opportunity to review and strengthen bilateral relations and fully implement the decisions reached at the 19th Moroccan-Tunisian Joint Commission in June 2017, he added.

"Several ideas, projects and initiatives from both sides are under way," Bachtobji said. Enditem
