TORONTO, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- Canada's main stock market rallied for the sixth straight day Friday as it posted best weekly performance in more than three years.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's benchmark Standard & Poor's/TSX Composite Index rose 35.69 points, or 0.24 percent, to end the day at 14,939.18 points.
The Canadian dollar fell 0.18 cents to 0.7535 U.S. dollar.
On the market, 133 stocks rose while 99 ones fell. There were 10 new highs and one new low, with total volume of 248.9 million traded shares.
The energy sector rose 0.18 points, or 0.12 percent, while the financials climbed 0.56 points, or 0.2 percent.
Bombardier Inc. fell six cents to 2.17 Canadian dollars.
The Green Organic Dutchman Holdings rose 27 cents to 3.05 Canadian dollars shares.
The most heavily traded shares by volume were Aurora Cannabis Inc., Aphria Inc. and Encana Corp.
Aurora Cannabis Inc. added 59 cents to 8.47 Canadian dollars on 32.8 million shares. Aphria Inc. gained 47 cents to 9.18 Canadian dollars on 17.8 million shares. Encana Corp. rose 20 cents to 8.96 Canadian dollars on 7.9 million shares. Enditem
