STOCKHOLM -- The six people who died in a tragic road accident in Sweden on Saturday have been identified as Swiss citizens, Swedish Television (SVT) reported on Sunday.

The accident occurred just before 02:00 a.m. on Saturday near the city of Kiruna in northern Sweden when a freight truck collided with a minibus carrying seven people. (Sweden-Swiss-Accident)

ATHENS -- The Independent Greeks (ANEL), the junior partner in the ruling two-partite coalition until Sunday, will vote against in the forthcoming confidence vote to the government of Alexis Tsipras, its party leader said.

BERLIN -- Three German skiers were killed and a fourth one missing, after they were struck by an avalanche while skiing near the western Austrian city of Lech, German news agency DPA reported on Sunday, citing Austrian officials.

SHIBERGHAN, Afghanistan -- At least 16 people including nine insurgents and seven security personnel have been killed in a clash between Afghan security forces and the Taliban in northern Jawzjan province on Sunday, a local official said.

The clash erupted early Sunday in Aqcha district when Taliban militants stormed a checkpoint on the road linking Jawzjan to neighbor Balkh province, district governor Ghulam Sakhi Subhani said. (Afghanistan-Clash) Enditem
