KABUL, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- A powerful blast rocks Afghan capital Kabul on Monday evening, injuring at least 40 people.
The blast, which was a car bomb, according to an official, targeted Green village, a fortified area in the Police District 9 on the Kabul-Jalalabad road at around 07: 00 p.m. local time.
Green village is a well-protected area in the eastern edge of Kabul city often frequented by foreigners living in Kabul.
A spokesman for Interior Ministry, Najib Danesh has also confirmed the blast, saying it was a motor bomb targeted PD 9 district, but could not provide more details.
Meanwhile, Wahidullah Mayar, the spokesman for Public Health Ministry has confirmed that 40 injured persons had been taken to hospitals. Enditem
