HANOI -- Nearly 200 delegates, including leaders of national tourism organizations (NTOs) of ASEAN members and the regional groupings partners gathered in Vietnams northern Quang Ninh province on Monday, touching upon measures to speed up sustainable tourism development.

At the 49th meeting of NTOs of countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) which opened on Monday in Quang Ninhs Ha Long city, the delegates also highlighted contributions of tourism sector to gross domestic product. JAKARTA -- Two Indonesian air force F-16 fighter jets on Monday forced down an Ethiopian cargo plane to land at an Indonesian airport for illegally flying the country's airspace, air force spokesman Colonel Sus Taibur Rahman said.

The Boeing Co 777 unscheduled cargo plane had no permit or flight clearance to fly above the Indonesian territory, the spokesman said. (Indonesia-Ethiopia-Plane)

KATHMANDU -- Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nepal's Parliament, Krishna Bahadur Mahara, on Monday said that the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative would greatly contribute to his country's socio-economic development.

Mahara made the remarks at a meeting with newly-appointed Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanqi in Kathmandu, the speaker's secretariat said in a press statement on Monday. (Nepal-B&R)
