German shares edge up Tuesday

FRANKFURT, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- German stocks edged up on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 35.88 points, or 0.33 percent, to close at 10,891.79 points.

Multinational building materials company HeidelbergCement won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 2.01 percent. Global internet technology and financial services provider Wirecard and pharmaceutical company Merck rose by 1.62 percent and 1.46 percent respectively.

Deutsche Post lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 1.97 percent. German airlines Lufthansa and European health care company Fresenius SE went down by 1.77 percent and 1.38 percent respectively.

Deutsche Post was the most-traded share with a turnover of 218.3 million euros (248.8 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
