JERUSALEM, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday met with Japanese Economy, Trade and Industry Minister Hiroshige Seko to discuss ways to enhance economic ties.
The meeting was also attended by Israel's Economy and Trade Minister Eli Cohen, said the Israeli Prime Minister's Office in a statement.
Netanyahu told Seko that Israel wants to "see more trade, more tourism and more investments in both directions."
He added that Japanese investments in Israel have witnessed a sharp increase to reach 5 billion U.S. dollars, and keep growing rapidly.
Seko arrived in Israel earlier the week for a three-day trip, heading the largest ever Japanese delegation to visit Israel that includes some 150 representatives from 90 Japanese firms.
The two sides will discuss cooperation in the fields of cybersecurity, digital health, and artificial intelligence. In May 2017, Israel and Japan formed the "Japan-Israel Innovation Network" to jointly promote economic cooperation. Enditem
