LONDON, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Tuesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.58 percent, or 40 points, to close at 6,895.02 points.
Rolls-Royce Holdings, a UK-based engineering company, soared 2.62 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. 3i Group and Ocado Group increased by 2.55 percent and 2.05 percent, respectively.
GVC Holdings, a multinational sports betting and gaming group, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 2.81 percent.
