PARIS -- French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe announced on Thursday the triggering of a plan linked to a no-deal Brexit, following a Brexit preparatory meeting.

TEHRAN -- The chief commander of the Iranian Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said that Iran will keep its military advisers and hardware in Syria despite Israel's threats, Press TV reported on Thursday.

"We will protect all of the military advisers as well as weapons and equipment that we have deployed in Syria in order to reinforce the Islamic resistance fighters and support the people of this Islamic country," IRGC chief commander Mohammad Ali Jafari was quoted as saying.

NEW DELHI -- India's National Green Tribunal Thursday slammed German auto maker Volkswagen for not depositing 14.07 million U.S. dollars' penalty and directed it to pay the fine within 24 hours, officials said.

The German company was imposed with the penalty for causing "serious environmental damage."

"A bench headed by NGT chairperson Adarsh Kumar Goel today while coming down heavily on Volkswagen for its non-compliance of Nov. 16, 2018 order asked it to give an undertaking that it will submit the amount by 5:00 p.m. local time tomorrow (Friday)," an official said. Enditem
