BOGOTA, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- At least five people were killed and 10 others injured in a car bomb at a police school in the southern area of Colombia's capital Bogota on Thursday, said local authorities.
The car bomb exploded at the General Santander School and the explosive wave destroyed several houses in the area around the school, according to witnesses at the scene.
Enrique Penalosa, mayor of Bogota, condemned the attack and said unidentified people had entered the school and placed a car bomb there.
Authorities are investigating the accident and have initiated operations to capture those responsible. Enditem
