Brazil's economic activity grows 1.38 pct in first 11 months of 2018

BRASILIA, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- Brazil's economic activity registered a growth of 1.38 percent between January and November of last year, the Central Bank of Brazil said Thursday.

The Index of Economic Activity of the Central Bank (IBC-Br), which is seen as a preview of the gross domestic product (GDP), showed a growth of 0.29 percent last November in comparison to October and a growth of 1.86 percent as compared to November of 2017.

The IBC-Br, which includes information on the level of activity in industry, commerce, services and agricultural sectors, is calculated by the Central Bank of Brazil to facilitate decision-making on monetary policy.

In the last 12 months ending November, the activity level indicator grew 1.44 percent, according to figures from the central bank. Enditem
