Chinese New Year celebrations held in Bangladesh with cultural performances

DHAKA, Jan. 18 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese New Year gala was held in the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka on Thursday night, with artists from both countries presenting colorful and riveting performances.

Chinese artists left the audience spellbound through their performance which included traditional Chinese music, dances and acrobatics while Bangladeshi artists' performance earned a huge round of applause.

The Chinese New Year falls on Feb. 5 this year.

Chinese Ambassador Zhang Zuo said at the event that the Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, is a traditional Chinese festival with a long history, and the event is a vivid manifestation of traditional Chinese culture.

The event was attended by Bangladeshi secretary in charge Roxana Malek, among others, along with a host of distinguished persons. Enditem
