LONDON, Jan. 18 (Xinhua) -- Judd Trump upset world number one Mark Selby 6-2 to reach the semifinals of the Masters snooker tournament here on Friday.
Selby, who has struggled to produce his best since winning the 2017 World Championship, lost the first two frames and pulled one back with a 64 to make it 2-1. But Trump, ranked fourth in the world, surged 5-1 ahead.
Leicester's Selby made a 110 in frame seven but Trump kept his cool to ease through to Saturday's semifinal.
Trump, who reached the last four in 2012, 2016 and 2018 but missed out on the final, will face 2012 champion Neil Robertson, who came from 2-0 behind to beat Barry Hawkins 6-3.
Seven-time champion Ronnie O'Sullivan will take on China's world number eight Ding Junhui in the other semifinal on Saturday. Enditem
