CAPE TOWN, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- The following are news highlights in South African major news outlets on Saturday.

-- Zizi Kodwa, the African National Congress' acting national spokesperson, said on Friday that the ruling party fully supports the work of the Zondo Commission of Inquiry into state capture and would not defend anyone implicated in wrongdoing in the evidence presented at the hearings.

This came after Angelo Agrizzi, former COO of BOSASA, a company linked with the Indian Gupta family, testified how BOSASA laundered money to make payments using youth centers and bogus software sales. (Cape Argus)

-- The bodies of two more South Africans who drowned in Mozambique have now been found, bringing the number of those accounted for to three.

A group of five friends went swimming near Maputo earlier this week but only one returned to shore.(Eyewitness News)

-- The African National Congress (ANC) is holding its National Executive Committee meeting in Irene outside Pretoria. The meeting will be followed by the ANC consultative conference which is the first after the party's 54th national congress.
