MEXICO CITY -- At least 73 people have been killed in Friday's fuel pipeline explosion in Mexico's central state of Hidalgo, said governor Omar Fayad on Saturday evening.

More dead bodies have been recovered at the scene as the cleaning work is going on and more people who had suffered critical injuries in the explosion died in different hospitals, said the official.(Mexico-Explosion)

SANTIAGO -- A 6.7-magnitude earthquake jolted the port city of Coquimbo in northern Chile late Saturday with no immediate casualties reported.

The quake struck at 10:32 p.m. local time (0132 GMT Sunday) with the epicenter some 13 km east of the town of Tongoy in the northern region of Coquimbo and 428 km north of capital Santiago, said the National Seismological Center of the University of Chile.(Chile-Quake)

KINSHASA -- The constitutional court of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on Sunday confirmed the victory of opposition leader Felix Tshisekedi in presidential elections after rejecting a legal appeal by the runner-up.

According to the court, Tshisekedi, candidate of the Union for Democracy and Social Progress, won the elections with more than 38.5 percent of the vote while his close rival Martin Fayulu, another opposition candidate, garnered around 28 percent of the vote. They were followed by Emmanuel Ramazani Shadary, a candidate for the ruling coalition.(DRC-Elections)
