KIGALI -- Fourteen miners were killed on Monday in a cassiterite mine accident in Mwulire sector, Rwamagana district, eastern Rwanda, district mayor Radjab Mbonyumuvunyi told Xinhua over the phone.

The victims, including seven males and seven females, had gone about usual duties inside the mine, when a weak cliff caved in and collapsed, trapping them underground, Mbonyumuvunyi said.(Rwanda-Mine-Accident)

NEW DELHI -- An Indian Navy official said on Monday that eight people died, one went missing and 17 people were rescued after a ferry boat capsized in the southern state of Karnataka.

ISLAMABAD -- An explosion in a coal mine in Pakistan's southwest Balochistan province killed three miners and trapped at least four others, local media and officials said on Monday.

RABAT -- Moroccan air force Mirage F1 crashed Monday near the northern city of Taounate during a training flight, the Moroccan army said.
