BEIRUT, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- Tourism Minister Avedis Guidanian said that the ski season has started in Lebanon "in an excellent way" this year.

"Hotels in Kfardebian were full during December and they are still full by now which will generate good revenues for this area," Guidanian told Xinhua in an exclusive interview.

Mzaar Kfardebian is a ski area in Lebanon and the largest ski resort in the Middle East. It is located one hour drive away from Beirut, the capital of Lebanon.

Guidanian said that tourists who enjoy skiing prefer Lebanon because they know that it has maybe the best ski slopes that the snow levels are satisfying this year after the two snow storms swept the country.

The storms hit Lebanon in the past month, bringing snow to several towns and areas lying 700 meters or more above sea level.

Guidanian said that he expects a successful ski season until the month of March. Enditem
