VILNIUS, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- Georgia follows example of Lithuania as regards important economic reforms, especially in the sector of start-ups, Georgia's prime minister Mamuka Bakhtadze said here Monday after meeting with his Lithuanian counterpart Saulius Skvernelis.

"Lithuania is considered as country of start-ups, offering a very favorable business environment. Lithuania shares this experience with us," said Bakhtadze, inviting Lithuanian companies to invest more actively in Georgia.

During the meeting, the two leaders agreed that bilateral relations are "exemplary", but economic cooperation still needed to catch up in order to reach the untapped potential for deeper economic relations.

Bakhtadze also expressed his gratitude for Lithuania's support on Georgia's path to European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

On his part, Skvernelis said his country will continue supporting Georgia's independence and territorial integrity, and its firm determination to seek full integration into the European Union and NATO.

During his visit, Bakhtadze also met with Lithuania's President Dalia Grybauskaite.

Georgia has achieved huge progress in European reforms and has been successfully implementing the Association Agreement and is rightly referred to as the leader of the EU Eastern Partnership program, Grybauskaite was quoted as saying in a statement released by her office.

It was particularly important for Georgia to keep up with the achieved pace of reforms, she emphasized.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Lithuania and Georgia. Enditem
