TOKYO, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks edged lower on Tuesday morning as investors moved to secure profits after the Nikkei's early rise on a weaker yen, with concerns about the health of the global economy also factoring into a slightly cautious market mood.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average edged 12.67 points, or 0.06 percent lower, from Monday to 20,706.66.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, slipped 3.57 points, or 0.23 percent, at 1,562.80.
By the morning break, oil and coal producers, mining firms, and metal producer-linked issues comprised those that declined the most. Enditem
