JAKARTA -- A shallow undersea quake measuring 6.7 Richter scale struck off East Nusa Tenggara province of central Indonesia on Tuesday, but there was no tsunami alert issued and no initial reports of damages, meteorology and geophysics agency said.

The strong quake is classified as the main shock of a series of quake striking off the province earlier on Tuesday and the previous 6.2 magnitude quake and two others quake with magnitude of 5.2 are ascribed as fore shocks, official in charge at the agency Priyo Budi told Xinhua over phone. BOGOTA -- Colombia's National Liberation Army (ELN) guerrilla group said Monday it was behind the car bombing that killed at least 21 people at a police academy in the capital Bogota last week.

BRUSSELS -- Russia and Ukraine will meet in May for further gas talks after an EU-mediated discussion proposed a new contract for Russian gas exports to Europe via Ukraine from 2020, European Commission Vice President Maros Sefcovic said here on Monday.

A "fair proposal" was tabled, covering the duration, volume, and tariffs in a future transit deal, and it has been presented to Russia's Energy Minister Alexander Novak and Ukraine's Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin, Sefcovic said. (Russia-Ukraine-Gas Talks)

MOSCOW -- There is no hope of finding survivors from the ship fire in the Kerch Strait connecting the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, Russia's Federal Agency of Maritime and River Transport (Rosmorrechflot) said Tuesday.
