WASHINGTON -- The U.S. Senate will vote on two competing bills Thursday in an attempt to end the month-long partial government shutdown, Republican and Democratic Senate leaders said Tuesday.
The two spending bills include one with 5.7 billion U.S. dollars to fund the U.S.-Mexico border wall demanded by President Donald Trump, and another that extends funding for closed agencies until Feb. 8. The compromise was reached between Mitch McConnell, the Senate majority leader, and Chuck Schumer, the Senate Democratic leader. (US-Government Shutdown)

GAZA -- Israeli war jets carried out on Tuesday night a series of airstrikes on military facilities belonging to Hamas, eyewitnesses and security sources said.

OTTAWA -- There were no casualties after a 50-car train derailed and caught fire north of Saskatoon, Canada on Tuesday, according to CTV.
A video showed flames and smoke rising on scene after 30 of the 50 cars carrying grain derailed near the junction of Canadian Highway 11 and Wanuskewin Road. Traffic on one of the roads has been blocked in both directions.(Canada-Train-Derailment) Enditem
