Afghan president to attend Davos meeting in Switzerland

KABUL, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani left here on Wednesday for Switzerland to participate the World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting there, the Afghan Presidential Palace said.

"President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani left here for Davos, Switzerland to participate in third day of World Economic Forum 2019 meeting to be held on Jan. 24," the palace said in a statement.

The statement said that besides attending the WEF annual meeting, president Ghani will also deliver a speech during a meeting focusing on future of Afghanistan's economy, growth and the country's vital role in regional connectivity.

The Afghan leader will also attend a luncheon to be hosted by WEF chairman for world economic leaders, according to the statement. Enditem
