HARARE, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Wednesday swore in a new Prosecutor-General (PG) to replace Ray Goba who resigned mid-2018 amid allegations of misconduct.

Mnangagwa picked Kumbirai Hodzi from a list of 10 aspirants who were interviewed by the Judicial Service Commission late 2018.

Hodzi, who had been acting PG since Goba's resignation, was Deputy Attorney-General in charge of the Legal Advice Section since 2012.

He is expected to pursue Mnangagwa's anti-corruption crusade.

Mnangagwa swore him into office at a ceremony at State House, which was also attended by Vice Presidents Constantino Chiwenga and Kembo Mohadi. Enditem
