BERLIN, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- Leipzig signed Salzburg's midfielder Hannes Wolf for the next season, both clubs confirmed on Wednesday.
The "Bulls" have reinforced their midfield for the next Bundesliga season, as Hannes Wolf will join in July after putting pen to paper on a deal until June 2024.
"Hannes Wolf has drawn attention in recent years by strong performances and a conspicuously good development. This is reflected not only by winning the UEFA Youth League but also in his numerous national and international appearances for the first team despite his young age," Leipzig's head coach Ralf Rangnick said.
The 19-year-old midfielder made over 42 appearances in Austria's top flight, providing 12 goals and 10 assists. In addition, he made 16 games in the UEFA Europa League where he scored twice and provided five assists.
Leipzig's new arrival has scent the air also in Europe's elite competition by making eight outings and ensuring one assist in UEFA Champions League.
