Dollar changes hands in mid-109 yen range in early trade in Tokyo

TOKYO, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar changed hands in the mid-109 yen zone in early deals in Tokyo on Thursday, largely in line with its levels in New York overnight.
As markets opened here, the dollar was quoted at 109.49-50 yen compared with 109.57-67 yen in New York and 109.61-63 yen at 5 p.m. on Wednesday in Tokyo.
The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1386-1387 dollars and 124.67-68 yen against 1.1375-1385 dollars and 124.69-79 yen in New York and 1.1364-1366 dollars and 124.56-60 yen in late Wednesday afternoon trade in Tokyo. Enditem
