ADDIS ABABA, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) -- The following are news highlights in Ethiopia's major media outlets on Friday.

-- Ethiopia's Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on Thursday met with the European Union Commissioner for International Cooperation and Development, Neven Mimica, at his office in Ethiopia's capital Addis Ababa.

The discussions were a continuation of the PM's official visit to Brussels where he met with the leadership of the European Union Commission. (Fana Broadcasting Corporate/FBC)

-- Ethiopia and the Republic of Guinea have signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to elevate their relations into strategic partnership.

The strategic partnership agreement includes cooperation on the establishment of a joint ministerial commission, agriculture, air services, health, science and higher education, as well as culture and tourism. (Ethiopian News Agency/ENA)

-- China is actively involved in hot spot issues in Africa and supports the people of the continent in resolving African issues in African way, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister, Chen Xiaodong, has said.
