GABORONE, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) -- Botswana's President Mokgweetsi Masisi will lead a Botswana delegation to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for the 32nd Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union (AU) scheduled for Sunday and Monday, a statement from Botswana's international affairs ministry said.

Unity Dow, the minister of international affairs and cooperation, said the summit presents an invaluable opportunity to reflect on and address the root causes of forced displacement in Africa.

"Botswana is host to over 3,000 refugees. And this is the opportunity for us, as a country to appreciate some of the challenges faced by refugees as well as displaced people," said Dow, adding that the platform will help Botswana to live up to the expectations of the refugee community in Botswana.

She said the Summit is expected to deliberate on a number of other important issues, including the institutional reform and financing of the continental body; peace and security on the continent and development related to the African Continental Free Trade Area.

Masisi will be accompanied by Botswana's health and wellness minister, Alfred Madigele and several other senior government officials. Enditem
